Assessment and condition reports
A written, illustrated diagnosis of the condition of an object or a collection, before any decision.

Before treating, lending, exhibiting, selling, insuring or moving an object, you need to know exactly what condition it is in. That is what a condition report is for.
What a condition report contains
- Identification of the object: technique, support, dimensions.
- A description of its damage: tears, losses, stains, distortion, old interventions, fragile inks and colours.
- Photographs, with the affected areas marked.
- My recommendations: whether treatment is needed, and precautions for handling, transport and storage.
Documentation
Every intervention at the studio is documented: photographs before, during and after, the materials used, a report. This record serves the owner (insurance, sale, passing it on) and the future conservator, who will know which materials to remove if needed. At the Bibliothèque nationale de France I wrote the treatment records of the works I restored.
Who it is for
- Private clients and collectors: knowing what you own, before deciding on treatment or insurance.
- Institutions: before a loan, an exhibition, a collection move.
- Professionals: galleries, auction houses, framers, insurers, before a sale, shipping, or after an incident.
